Glasgow 4 Hearings to Commence in May

Date 30th April 2025

Next month the Scottish Hospitals Inquiry will continue to hear evidence in relation to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow.

This is the first hearing following the publication of Direction 10. This sets out that the Glasgow 4 hearings will be held in three blocks, the first of which is scheduled to be held 13-30 May 2025. A weekly programme will be posted towards the end of the week before the week that witnesses will appear. Any changes or updates will be posted via social media when they are known.

In this first hearing, Lord Brodie will hear from representatives of organisations involved with the construction of the hospital and those in key decision-making roles. This hearing will examine issues including the design basis for the hospital; the nature of the construction contract; and how decisions relating to specific building systems were arrived at.

Evidence bundles, witness statements and transcripts will be published on the Inquiry Documents page when they are available.
