Video update by the Chair, Lord Brodie
Lord Brodie, chair of the Scottish Hospitals Inquiry provides a progress update and outlines key procedural processes leading to publication of the report that will be undertaken in the coming months.
The Inquiry was established to examine the construction of three hospitals, the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Campus, Glasgow, and the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People, and Department of Clinical Neurosciences, Edinburgh.
It came about as a result of public concern over issues arising in relation to the built environment of the three hospitals and their potential impact on patients and others.
This concern was reflected in widespread media coverage, debates and questions to the Cabinet Secretary in the Scottish Parliament, and a number of investigations.
Over the duration of its investigations, 238 witnesses gave evidence, there were 148 hearing days, and the Inquiry sourced and analysed many thousands of documents.
In the filmed update that can be viewed here, Lord Brodie provides broad details of what his final report will cover, as well as the warning letter procedure.
